This is the sixth edition of the Cruising Almanac in its present form. In 2002, the Cruising Association went into partnership with Imray to produce a two yearly publication. Building on its success, it is now being published annually with the current year’s tide tables for 47 standard ports.
Like the last edition it covers the Shetland Islands to Gibraltar and West Ireland to the Approaches to the Baltic, and as before, contains tidal constants and curves, together with tidal stream chartlets. It has been thoroughly revised, and follows the well established format.There are some extensive updates, for example, much of the Netherlands has been rewritten, the Approaches to the Baltic has been extended to Bergen, and four new ports have been included in the Atlantic Spain and Portugal section. Index Plans have been made clearer, enabling distances between ports to be measured more easily, page numbers are included with the port.
A team of Regional Editors, all members of the Cruising Association, experienced in cruising in their own area, produce the text and help to update the plans.
